Porn Industry Seeks Supreme Court Help with Texas Age Verification Laws

The porn industry is seeking the intervention of the U.S. Supreme Court for Texas’ age verification law, which led to Pornhub pulling its service out of the state earlier this month. The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has filed to have the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit stay its ruling, and attorneys for the FSC stated that a petition to have the Supreme Court review the ruling will be filed soon. Texas is one of almost a dozen states with an age verification law for porn sites. Pornhub has banned access for users from several states, and Texas has sued other adult sites for non-compliance. The industry's battle with age verification laws continues, with Florida being one of the latest states to pass such a law. However, the fate of Pornhub's availability in Florida remains uncertain.
