AI-powered Mental Health Startup, clare&me, Secures €3.7M in Funding

Berlin-based AI mental health startup, clare&me, has announced the successful acquisition of €3.7 million in funding to further enhance its AI chatbot specifically designed for clinical use. This investment aims to bolster the chatbot, which facilitates mental health discussions, with the goal of reducing waiting times and minimizing the stigma often associated with seeking help. The primary focus of the funding will be to support the development of an "empathic" large language model (LLM) and a new product for automating clinical interviews, aiming to enhance collaboration with clinics and foster user trust.

The research conducted in partnership with Charité Berlin revealed that patients engaging with the chatbot, Clare, over a period of eight weeks reported significant improvements in stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness.
