Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reclaimed the position of the second-wealthiest person in the world, surpassing Jeff Bezos in a month-long contest for the title of wealthiest person in the U.S. Musk's estimated net worth increased, while Bezos' net worth fell according to Forbes' Real-Time Billionaires tracker. Musk's net worth was estimated at about $193.6 billion, while Bezos was estimated to be worth the same. Meanwhile, Bernard Arnault, CEO of the LVMH empire, remains the wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of about $231.1 billion. Tesla's stock rose by 1.3% while Amazon's stock fell by 0.6%. Musk's wealth resurgence follows a month-long battle with Bezos for the top U.S. spot, with the pair flip-flopping in the wealth rankings since the beginning of March. This marks Musk's latest movement in a month-long jostle between the two billionaires.
